New Chavah feature: Sign-in

Shalom, Messianic music fans.

Yesterday we rolled out a brand new Chavah feature: sign-in.

(Notice the “Sign in” on the right)

Have you ever listened to Chavah on more than one device? Maybe you listen on your PC and your tablet. Or maybe on your Mac and your mobile phone?

If you have, there’s a problem: all your likes aren’t there on your other devices. All the songs you “liked” on your PC don’t show as “liked” on your tablet, for instance.

fixes that.

You can now Sign-In on each device, letting you keep your likes and dislikes on all your devices.

Cool, yeah?

Here’s how to sign-in:

  1. Click the “Sign in” link in the top-left corner of the screen:
  2. Clicking sign-in will bring up the sign-in screen:image

Put in your email address. You may be asked to verify your email address. For example, if you have a Gmail address, it may ask you to verify your Gmail name and password.
  3. You’re done! You should see your signed-in status in the top-left of the screen:

notes

  • It’s simplified: you don’t need a new password for Chavah. Just sign-in with your existing email address.
  • No passwords are shared with us; all we know is your email address.
  • Your email address is treated like a precious jewel. Never shared with anyone, never spammed. It’s used to keep track of your likes/dislikes across devices.
  • It’s not required: you don’t have to sign-in to listen to Chavah. Only if you want to like/dislike or request songs, you’ll need to sign-in.
  • You don’t have to sign-in every time; signing-in once should stick around on that device indefinitely. In other words, once you’ve signed-in, Chavah gets out of your way and behaves just like it did before.

Problems signing in? Please comment on this post and let me know.

Hope you enjoy, fine Chavah fans!

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem.Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album:Hooked on the TruthFirestarterGood News to Mission ControlScripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good NewsAviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite.Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel, came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah. His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. One friend says he passed a…

FAQ: How do I request a song?

Q. I don’t see the song request feature in Chavah. Where is it?A. It’s the ‘loudspeaker’ button at the top. Click that button, and then type the name of a song, artist, or album:Click the song you’re looking for, then click the ‘Request’ button:You’re done!Chavah will play the song instantly for you. Other people listening to the station will hear the song request as soon as their current song finishes.(p.s. Don’t like a song that someone requested? Thumb it down. Chavah will play something else for you, and the next time that song is requested, she’ll skip sending it to you.)(p.p.s. Looking for a song, but don’t quite remember the name? This is a great way to find it. Just type anything you do remember about the song, whether album, artist, or name (even if incomplete) and Chavah will do her best to find it for you.)
