New music: Zachary Bruno - Anthem

Image
Shalom Messianic music fans, Zachary Bruno - Anthem Zach is a remarkably talented young pianist and friend of the station. I met him years ago at Proclaim Music Festival and have loved his stirring, heartfelt piano instrumentals since. If a piano could ever speak and show emotion, it is in Zach’s beautiful original works for the King. Zach sent us this new album, along with two others that we’ll be adding to the station soon. Give it a listen! These original songs will stir your heart. A great big thanks to Zach for sending us his music for play on the station. Dear listeners, please support him by purchasing his music over at ZacharyBruno.com . You can also donate to all artists on the station, including Zach, through Messiah’s Music Fund . Thanks for supporting Messiah’s musicians! Shabbat shalom, Messiah family.

New music: Maoz Israel Music - First Fruits EP 1, Live from the Judean Hills

Image
Shalom Messianic music fans, Fresh Messianic music from Israel to amplify your joy this Passover season: Maoz Israel Music - First Fruits EP 1, Live from the Judean Hills This fresh new album, recorded live in Israel’s Judean hills, This 4 song EP features live performances from musicians Shilo Ben Hod, Birgitta Veksler, and Evan Levine. They perform some truly beautiful work in this album. I especially love Veksler’s take on Psalm 23 in Behkol Et. Here's a little bit about this music group: Virtually everything you know about worshiping God, you learned from Jews who lived thousands of years ago—before musical notation and before most of today’s instruments were even invented. If the mere echoes of ancient Israel’s worship have brought the world so much light, think how much more can be received when Israel’s modern-day Psalmists are reinstated to their posts as singers, songwriters, composers and musicians. Based in King David’s beloved city of Jerusalem–the City of Worship–w

New music: Adat Yehudim Meshichim - Erev Shabbat Melodies, Jerusalem 1948

Image
A very special treat for you that's 76 years in the making: Adat Yehudim Meshichim - Erev Shabbat Melodies, Jerusalem 1948 All but one of these melodies were composed in 1948 by the community Adat Meshichim Yehudim, the Congregation of Messianic Jews in Jerusalem, headed by Messianic pioneers Abram Poljak and Pauline Rose. These special, original melodies were recently performed on the piano by Megan Wallace of Beth Immanuel. These fine folks gave us permission to play on Chavah for your holy pleasure.  Enjoy this special treat to brighten your shabbat, fine Chavah fans!

Giving thanks: Neil & Pam C.

Dear Chavah listeners,  I occasionally receive mail from you all thanking me for Chavah. It's a bright spot in my week when I read them. Neil & Pam C. sent me this letter recently along with a donation: Judah, "Thanks" is not enough for your labor in producing and maintaining Chavah. Truly a labor of love for Adonai and His followers. Blessings + Shalom, Neil + Pam Neil & Pam, this brought a huge smile to my face. Thank you! I'm glad Chavah is a blessing to you both. If there's any good here, it's credited to the King. Thanks for this kind letter of encouragement! I put your donation into Messiah's Music Fund for distribution to the artists on Chavah. 💖 Now, back to work, but with a smile on my face.

Chavah 2.1 for iOS now available

Image
I'm glad to report we've deployed a new version of  Chavah app for iOS just this morning. You might ask, "Didn't you just deploy a new version of Chavah for iOS last month?" Yes, we did , and then Apple promptly shipped a new version of iOS, 17.2.1, that broke Chavah . Specifically, if Chavah was in the background, or if your phone screen was locked, Chavah wouldn't play the next song. This was a bug introduced by Apple for all web-based audio apps like Chavah. We've reported the issue to Apple and do hope it'll be fixed soon. In the meantime, today we shipped a new version of Chavah that works around Apple's bug. So, if you have an iPhone and you listen to Chavah, grab the latest version of Chavah from the App Store. With it, you'll be able to play songs regardless of whether Chavah is in the background.

New music: Sons of Korah - Man of Sorrows

Image
Shalom dear Chavah listeners, and happy 2024 to you.  We've added some fresh new music on the station that I'm certain you'll love. Sons of Korah - Man of Sorrows The group describes this new album: We find, in the Psalms, a deep joy that subsists in deep sorrow. The psalmist was always a man of joy because he was first a man of sorrows. He sowed in tears and reaped with joy (Psalm 126:5). Perhaps the most important thing for us today then, is not the pursuit of happiness, but the pursuit of sadness. The psalms invite us to share in the joy of God by first sharing his grief. It is a grief he bore most visibly in Jesus Christ who “was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities.” In this age sorrow and joy belong together and it cannot be otherwise. If we anaesthetize the sorrow, we forfeit the joy. Man of Sorrows – the latest Album from Sons of Korah, like all we have released before, is an invitation to venture into deeper places of divine sorrow and divi
