New Chavah feature: Sign-in

Yesterday we rolled out a brand new Chavah feature: sign-in.

Have you ever listened to Chavah on more than one device? Maybe you listen on your PC and your tablet. Or maybe on your Mac and your mobile phone?

If you have, there’s a problem: all your likes aren’t there on your other devices. All the songs you “liked” on your PC don’t show as “liked” on your tablet, for instance.

Sign-In fixes that.

You can now Sign-In on each device, letting you keep your likes and dislikes on all your devices.

Cool, yeah?

Here’s how to sign-in:

  1. Click the “Sign in” link in the top-left corner of the screen:

  2. Clicking sign-in will bring up the sign-in screen:image

    Put in your email address. You may be asked to verify your email address. For example, if you have a Gmail address, it may ask you to verify your Gmail name and password.
  3. You’re done! You should see your signed-in status in the top-left of the screen:

Sign-in notes

  • It’s simplified: you don’t need a new password for Chavah. Just sign-in with your existing email address.
  • No passwords are shared with us; all we know is your email address.
  • Your email address is treated like a precious jewel. Never shared with anyone, never spammed. It’s used to keep track of your likes/dislikes across devices.
  • It’s not required: you don’t have to sign-in to listen to Chavah. Only if you want to like/dislike or request songs, you’ll need to sign-in.
  • You don’t have to sign-in every time; signing-in once should stick around on that device indefinitely. In other words, once you’ve signed-in, Chavah gets out of your way and behaves just like it did before.

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem. Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album: Hooked on the Truth Firestarter Good News to Mission Control Scripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good News Aviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite. Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel , came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah . His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. Rick Coghill, Messianic music pioneer, diagnosed with cancer

Shalom Chavah fans, I wanted to pass on to you the news of the cancer diagnosis of Rick Coghill , early Messianic music pioneer with the group Lamb: The post reads, Dear Fans and Friends of LAMB, (Picture taken in 1973) Please keep my 20-year partner in Lamb, Rick Coghill, in your prayers. He recently contracted liver cancer and is in hospice with not much time left here on this earth. A brilliant producer and guitarist, his contribution to the Messianic movement through Lamb was priceless. Pray that his passing is peaceful and that the comfort of God permeates all around him. Ps. 23:4 – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. I consider Lamb to be the pioneer of Messianic music, having produced several albums in the 1970s, trailblazing the genre of Jewish music for Messiah.
