New music: Joel Weiskopf - Wondrous Love

We've got some new music on the station for your building up in the Lord:



This album is something a bit different, friends. It's praises for God in the modern jazz style. Might be a bit different than you're accustomed to. But I say, let all the praises in all its beautiful variety be sacrificed to God. Here's a bit about this album:

Jewish believer Joel Weiskopf has been a professional jazz musician who has played with jazz greats such as Woody Herman, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, Jimmy Cobb and John Patitucci, among many others. Joel Weiskopf Echad is a new Messianic-Gospel-Jazz group led by Jewish believer and Jazz pianist Joel Weiskopf. Top jazz vocalists and instrumentalists join Joel on his new recording Wondrous Love, which features worshipful gospel-jazz arrangements of traditional Jewish liturgical songs, hymns, contemporary Christian songs and originals. 

A new, refreshing way to enjoy some of your favorite worship songs and a great way to share the gospel of Yeshua with friends and relatives! 20 years ago, when he was frustrated, burned out, broken and hurt, he made the decision to trust Jesus with his life. Since then, God has done an awesome work of grace and healing in Joel's life. This CD is the culmination of many years of prayer, and features many of Joel's original compositions and arrangements written for jazz ensemble and vocalists. Joel has served as pianist at several churches and Messianic congregations in the New York City including The Brooklyn Tabernacle, Congregation Beit Hofesh and most recently, Congregation Shaar Adonai, and has also served at several Jews for Jesus ingatherings, as well as High Holy day services. 

His desire is to meld the rich genres of Messianic, Gospel and Jazz music in a way that they can reach as many people as possible, both Jew and Gentile, with the life-changing message that Yeshua is indeed the Messiah!

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem. Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album: Hooked on the Truth Firestarter Good News to Mission Control Scripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good News Aviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite. Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel , came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah . His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died.
