New music: Misha Goetz–Weight of Glory

We’re honored to be playing Misha Goetz’s first full album, just released:

Misha Goetz – Weight of Glory:

(Support Messiah’s musicians: purchase Misha Goetz – Weight of Glory.)

If the name sounds familiar, it should! Misha is the daughter of famed psalmist and pianist Marty Goetz, whose music has graced the Messianic movement for decades.

(Marty joins Misha on the final song on the album, Aaronic Benediction, and it’s positively beautiful.)

But Misha is destined, I think, to grow beyond even the recognition of her father. Her worship to Israel’s Messiah is gentle yet powerful, peaceful yet stirring the heart. As I listen to Weight of Glory on this shabbat, I’m taken aback by the beauty and peace flowing through these psalms, my heart is moved towards the Lord.

Chavah Messianic Radio was proud to have helped fund this album via Kickstarter. Now that the album is finished, and we see the fruit of all this, we’re so glad to have been even a small part of it. The album’s sweet, melodious psalms usher in peace even now as I’m writing this. Reminiscent of Marty’s moving hymns, but with a taste of something new, something fresh.

Are you a disciple of Messiah? Grab Misha’s album – it’s a simple $15 – you’ll be supporting Messiah’s musicians and you’ll be edified through these psalms for Messiah. That makes a blessing for you, a blessing for Messiah’s musicians, and us the mere facilitator. And that’s the way we like it. :-)

Shabbat shalom, fine Chavah fans.

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem.Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album:Hooked on the TruthFirestarterGood News to Mission ControlScripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good NewsAviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite.Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel, came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah. His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. One friend says he passed a…

FAQ: How do I request a song?

Q. I don’t see the song request feature in Chavah. Where is it?A. It’s the ‘loudspeaker’ button at the top. Click that button, and then type the name of a song, artist, or album:Click the song you’re looking for, then click the ‘Request’ button:You’re done!Chavah will play the song instantly for you. Other people listening to the station will hear the song request as soon as their current song finishes.(p.s. Don’t like a song that someone requested? Thumb it down. Chavah will play something else for you, and the next time that song is requested, she’ll skip sending it to you.)(p.p.s. Looking for a song, but don’t quite remember the name? This is a great way to find it. Just type anything you do remember about the song, whether album, artist, or name (even if incomplete) and Chavah will do her best to find it for you.)
