New music: Micha’el Eliyahu BenDavid - Watchman, What of the Night?

Shalom, Messianic music fans. I’m pleased to let you know we’ve got a great new album on the station for you all:

Micha’el Eliyahu BenDavid – Watchman, What of the Night?

micha'el eliyahu bendavid - watchman, what of the night

Micha’el is a good friend of ours. (In fact, we worship with Micha’el each year in person, have known him for many years, and help run his music website.

This is Micha’el’s 6th album – he’s been a long-time laborer for the Lord in Israel and in the nations.

This new album is a venture into some new musical territory for Micha’el. Some songs with a jazz flair, some with a mizrahi reggae touch. Micha’el writes,

“Not something would normally do, but it felt good to spread my creative wings as the writer/producer. Having achieved what we’ve accomplished with this project is very fulfilling and I am very pleased to present this to you, in the hopes of bringing in a wider audience into Hebraic Praise in the beauty of Holiness! I hope you and your whole family enjoy the CD as much as we enjoyed making it!”

Chavah fans, I have a favor to ask. Would you go and purchase Micha’el’s new album for the small amount of $15? Micha’el recently got married and would be utterly grateful for some support from you, Messiah’s disciple.

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem.Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album:Hooked on the TruthFirestarterGood News to Mission ControlScripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good NewsAviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite.Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel, came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah. His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. One friend says he passed a…

FAQ: How do I request a song?

Q. I don’t see the song request feature in Chavah. Where is it?A. It’s the ‘loudspeaker’ button at the top. Click that button, and then type the name of a song, artist, or album:Click the song you’re looking for, then click the ‘Request’ button:You’re done!Chavah will play the song instantly for you. Other people listening to the station will hear the song request as soon as their current song finishes.(p.s. Don’t like a song that someone requested? Thumb it down. Chavah will play something else for you, and the next time that song is requested, she’ll skip sending it to you.)(p.p.s. Looking for a song, but don’t quite remember the name? This is a great way to find it. Just type anything you do remember about the song, whether album, artist, or name (even if incomplete) and Chavah will do her best to find it for you.)
