We’ve added new Messianic music to the station:

Joshua Turnil - Shoresh

Joshua is the director of Jews for Jesus in Paris, France. His music is a beautiful mix of French, Hebrew, and English. I’ve sampled several of the songs and really dig them! Awesome praises for the Lord with an eastern flair. I think you guys will too. 😊

The album is subtitled, “Back to the roots of Messianic music.”

He explains,

"Shoresh means root. We are getting back to the origins of messianic music…at the very origins of Jews for Jesus and the messianic movement of course, Shoresh first and foremost refers to the Messiah. He is at the origin and at the root of all good things. In Isaiah, he is called a root out of dry ground. The root comes out of dry ground but is not dry in and of itself. It is full of life and it gives life. Yeshua as a root out of dry ground is an image of Israel, identifies with Israel and the hope of Israel. We hope Shoresh will bring you back to the root of messianic faith and life."

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem. Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album: Hooked on the Truth Firestarter Good News to Mission Control Scripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good News Aviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite. Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel , came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah . His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. Rick Coghill, Messianic music pioneer, diagnosed with cancer

Shalom Chavah fans, I wanted to pass on to you the news of the cancer diagnosis of Rick Coghill , early Messianic music pioneer with the group Lamb: The post reads, Dear Fans and Friends of LAMB, (Picture taken in 1973) Please keep my 20-year partner in Lamb, Rick Coghill, in your prayers. He recently contracted liver cancer and is in hospice with not much time left here on this earth. A brilliant producer and guitarist, his contribution to the Messianic movement through Lamb was priceless. Pray that his passing is peaceful and that the comfort of God permeates all around him. Ps. 23:4 – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. I consider Lamb to be the pioneer of Messianic music, having produced several albums in the 1970s, trailblazing the genre of Jewish music for Messiah.
