Giving thanks: Dennis from Ohio

Chavah listener Dennis from Ohio writes in to say,

“Shalom Judah,

I found your Messianic Jewish internet radio station about three weeks ago.  I am VERY impressed with it.  The music is for the most part toned down and very worshipful.  I have been listening to it for roughly 6 hours per day since I found it. The music is soothing and uplifting.  I also like the ability to request songs and to click on the ones which I like.

Thank you for taking the time to put all this together and make all of this wonderful Messianic Jewish music available.  For three years I have been listening to another Messianic Jewish internet station (Sounds of Shalom).  They have live DJs for a couple hours each day, and I have become friends with them via email.  But your music is more to my liking.  On Chava I have heard some extremely beautiful music which I had never head before.  I look forward to listening every day.  Keep up the great work!

Shalom”

Thank you, sincerely, Dennis! Stuff like this is truly encouraging to hear, and spurs me on in working on Chavah for the benefit of the Messianic community. It’s a joy to serve Messiah through Chavah.

Shalom!

Aviad Cohen has passed away

Friends, I’m saddened to announce that Messianic musician Aviad Cohen has passed away yesterday, according to a Facebook post from his family. I knew Aviad for many years; he contributed his music to Chavah years ago, and before that, I knew him through my younger brother when the two of them met in person by chance in Jerusalem.Aviad produced 4 albums for God, including 3 techno albums and 1 Scripture reading album:Hooked on the TruthFirestarterGood News to Mission ControlScripturesonics Vol. 1: The Good NewsAviad’s last album, Scripturesonics, is a stirring Scripture reading album set to orchestral music. It’s my personal favorite.Aviad made big splashes when he, as a conservative Jew and rapper known as 50 Shekel, came to belief in Yeshua as Israel’s messiah. His public conversion made him a target for anti-missionaries and Jews who considered his belief in Yeshua to be a betrayal of Judaism. At the time of this writing, it's not clear how Aviad died. One friend says he passed a…

FAQ: How do I request a song?

Q. I don’t see the song request feature in Chavah. Where is it?A. It’s the ‘loudspeaker’ button at the top. Click that button, and then type the name of a song, artist, or album:Click the song you’re looking for, then click the ‘Request’ button:You’re done!Chavah will play the song instantly for you. Other people listening to the station will hear the song request as soon as their current song finishes.(p.s. Don’t like a song that someone requested? Thumb it down. Chavah will play something else for you, and the next time that song is requested, she’ll skip sending it to you.)(p.p.s. Looking for a song, but don’t quite remember the name? This is a great way to find it. Just type anything you do remember about the song, whether album, artist, or name (even if incomplete) and Chavah will do her best to find it for you.)
